Description

A classic Waldorf Salad recipe with a mix of crisp apples, grapes, celery, and walnuts tossed in a creamy dressing, perfect for a light and refreshing meal or side dish.

Ingredients

Scale

For the Salad:

  • 2 cups crisp apples (cored and chopped, skin on or off)
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 cup seedless grapes (halved)
  • 1 cup celery (thinly sliced)
  • 1/2 cup walnuts (toasted and roughly chopped)

For the Dressing:

  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise or Greek yogurt
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • Salt and black pepper to taste

To Serve:

  • Lettuce leaves (optional)

Instructions

  1. Toss Apples: In a large bowl, toss chopped apples with lemon juice to prevent browning.
  2. Add Ingredients: Add grapes, celery, and walnuts to the apples.
  3. Make Dressing: In a small bowl, whisk together mayonnaise (or Greek yogurt), honey, salt, and pepper until smooth.
  4. Combine: Pour dressing over the fruit and nut mixture, tossing gently to coat.
  5. Serve: Serve immediately or refrigerate for 30 minutes to allow flavors to meld. Serve on its own or on a bed of lettuce.

Notes

  • For a lighter version, use half mayonnaise and half Greek yogurt.
  • You can also add dried cranberries or raisins for extra sweetness.
