Description
A quick and delicious cinnamon toast recipe featuring buttery, cinnamon-sugar spread on crispy baked bread, perfect for a comforting breakfast or snack.
Ingredients
Scale
For the Cinnamon Butter
- 1/4 cup (56g) salted butter, softened
- 1/4 cup (50g) granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
For the Toast
- 4 slices sandwich bread (any variety, hearty wheat recommended)
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (177°C). Arrange the bread slices in a single layer on an ungreased, unlined broiler-safe baking sheet.
- Prepare Cinnamon Butter: In a medium bowl, combine the softened butter, granulated sugar, ground cinnamon, and vanilla extract. Mix thoroughly with a fork until the mixture forms a smooth, spreadable paste.
- Spread Mixture: Evenly divide the cinnamon butter among the bread slices. Spread the mixture completely from edge to edge on each slice to ensure full coverage and flavor.
- Bake the Toast: Place the baking sheet on the top or center rack of the oven, making sure it is at least 5 inches below the broiler element. Bake for 10 minutes until the bread becomes lightly crispy.
- Broil to Finish: Switch your oven to the broil setting on high. Broil the toast for 1 to 2 minutes until the cinnamon sugar topping starts bubbling and caramelizing. Watch closely to prevent burning and remove as soon as edges begin to darken.
- Cool and Serve: Allow the toast to cool slightly before slicing. Serve warm to enjoy the best texture and flavor.
Notes
- Using heavily buttered, hearty wheat bread enhances flavor and texture, but any bread variety works.
- Watch closely when broiling to avoid burning the cinnamon sugar topping.
- You can adjust cinnamon and sugar amounts to taste.
- Serve with a cup of coffee or tea for a comforting breakfast or snack.
