For the Baked Beans:
- 4 cups canned navy beans or great northern beans (drained and rinsed)
- 6 slices thick-cut bacon (chopped)
- 1 medium onion (diced)
- 2 cloves garlic (minced)
- 3/4 cup ketchup
- 1/4 cup molasses
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon yellow mustard
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Preheat oven to 350°F.
- Cook Bacon: Cook chopped bacon in a skillet until crisp. Remove and set aside, leaving 1 tablespoon of bacon fat in the skillet.
- Sauté Onions: Sauté diced onion until soft. Add garlic and cook until fragrant.
- Mix Ingredients: In a bowl, combine onions, garlic, ketchup, molasses, brown sugar, mustard, Worcestershire sauce, smoked paprika, salt, pepper, beans, and most of the cooked bacon.
- Bake: Transfer mixture to a baking dish, top with reserved bacon, and bake for 45–55 minutes.
- Rest and Serve: Let the beans rest for 10 minutes before serving.
