Spaghetti:
- 8 ounces spaghetti
Meat Sauce:
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 small onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 packet taco seasoning
- 1 (10-ounce) can diced tomatoes with green chilies
- 1/2 cup tomato sauce
- 1/2 cup water
Toppings:
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/2 cup shredded Monterey Jack cheese
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Chopped cilantro, sliced green onions, and diced tomatoes for garnish
Instructions
- Cook the Spaghetti: Prepare spaghetti according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- Make the Meat Sauce: In a skillet, heat olive oil and brown the ground beef. Add onion, garlic, taco seasoning, diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, and water. Simmer for 5 minutes.
- Combine: Add cooked spaghetti to the skillet. Top with cheeses, cover, and melt for 2-3 minutes. Season with salt and pepper.
- Garnish and Serve: Sprinkle with cilantro, green onions, and diced tomatoes before serving.
Notes
- For a spicier kick, add cayenne pepper or use hot diced tomatoes.
- Ground turkey or plant-based meat can be substituted for ground beef.
