Sauce:

  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup hot sauce (such as Frank’s RedHot)

  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch mixed with 2 tablespoons water (optional, for thickening)

Instructions

  1. Place Chicken in Slow Cooker: Put the chicken in the slow cooker.
  2. Mix Sauce: In a small bowl, combine honey, hot sauce, apple cider vinegar, Dijon mustard, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. Pour over the chicken.
  3. Cook: Cover and cook on low for 4–5 hours or high for 2–3 hours until chicken is cooked through. Shred chicken with forks.
  4. Thicken Sauce (Optional): Add cornstarch slurry and cook on high for 15 more minutes if desired.
  5. Serve: Pile hot honey chicken on brioche buns. Top with coleslaw and pickles if preferred.
