Description

Indulge in a delicious fusion of flavors with this Shrimp and Steak Fried Rice recipe. Perfectly cooked shrimp and tender slices of steak combined with fluffy jasmine rice, all stir-fried with a medley of vegetables and aromatic seasonings.

Ingredients

Scale

Jasmine Rice:

  • 2 cups cooked jasmine rice (day-old works best)

Proteins:

  • 8 ounces shrimp (peeled and deveined)
  • 8 ounces flank steak (thinly sliced against the grain)

Sauce and Seasoning:

  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil

Additional Ingredients:

  • 2 large eggs (lightly beaten)
  • 1 cup frozen peas and carrots (thawed)
  • 3 green onions (sliced)
  • 3 garlic cloves (minced)
  • 1 teaspoon fresh ginger (grated)
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil (divided)
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • Salt and black pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Cook Proteins: Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a large wok or skillet. Cook steak slices until browned, then set aside. Cook shrimp until pink, then set aside.
  2. Prepare Aromatics: In the same pan, sauté garlic, ginger, and vegetables. Add beaten eggs and scramble.
  3. Combine and Stir-Fry: Add rice, soy sauce, oyster sauce, and sesame oil. Mix well. Return steak and shrimp to the pan and heat through. Finish with green onions.

Notes

  • Using day-old rice prevents clumping.
  • Variations: Substitute chicken or tofu and add bell peppers or broccoli.
  • For added spice, include a splash of chili sauce.
