Jasmine Rice:
- 2 cups cooked jasmine rice (day-old works best)
Proteins:
- 8 ounces shrimp (peeled and deveined)
- 8 ounces flank steak (thinly sliced against the grain)
Sauce and Seasoning:
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
Additional Ingredients:
- 2 large eggs (lightly beaten)
- 1 cup frozen peas and carrots (thawed)
- 3 green onions (sliced)
- 3 garlic cloves (minced)
- 1 teaspoon fresh ginger (grated)
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil (divided)
- 1 tablespoon butter
- Salt and black pepper to taste
Instructions
- Cook Proteins: Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a large wok or skillet. Cook steak slices until browned, then set aside. Cook shrimp until pink, then set aside.
- Prepare Aromatics: In the same pan, sauté garlic, ginger, and vegetables. Add beaten eggs and scramble.
- Combine and Stir-Fry: Add rice, soy sauce, oyster sauce, and sesame oil. Mix well. Return steak and shrimp to the pan and heat through. Finish with green onions.
Notes
- Using day-old rice prevents clumping.
- Variations: Substitute chicken or tofu and add bell peppers or broccoli.
- For added spice, include a splash of chili sauce.
