Description

A hearty and delicious Sausage, Egg, and Cheese Breakfast recipe featuring savory breakfast sausage, fluffy scrambled eggs, and melted cheddar cheese. Perfect for a satisfying morning meal served on toasted buns, English muffins, or tortillas.

Ingredients

Scale

Main Ingredients

  • 1 lb breakfast sausage (pork, turkey, or your choice)
  • 6 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (or any cheese of your choice)
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder (optional)
  • 1/4 teaspoon paprika (optional)
  • 4 breakfast sandwich buns, English muffins, or tortillas (optional for serving)

Instructions

  1. Cook the Sausage: In a large skillet, cook the breakfast sausage over medium heat, breaking it apart with a spatula. Cook until browned and cooked through, about 7-8 minutes. Drain any excess grease, then set the sausage aside.
  2. Scramble the Eggs: In a medium bowl, whisk the eggs with the milk, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and paprika (if using). Heat a tablespoon of butter in a nonstick skillet over medium-low heat. Pour the egg mixture into the skillet and gently stir with a spatula, allowing the eggs to cook slowly and evenly. Once the eggs are cooked to your desired consistency, remove from the heat.
  3. Assemble the Breakfast: If you’re serving the breakfast with buns or tortillas, toast the buns or warm the tortillas in a separate skillet. Layer the sausage, scrambled eggs, and shredded cheese. If you prefer, you can melt the cheese by placing the assembled sandwich under the broiler for 1-2 minutes.
  4. Serve: Serve the Sausage, Egg, and Cheese Breakfast warm, either as a plate of scrambled eggs and sausage or as a delicious sandwich on toasted buns or wrapped in tortillas.

Notes

  • You can use pork or turkey sausage depending on your preference.
  • Adding garlic powder and paprika is optional but adds a nice depth of flavor.
  • To melt the cheese faster, use the broiler for 1-2 minutes but watch carefully to avoid burning.
  • Serve on your choice of bread or as a scramble platter.
  • Leftover sausage can be stored in the fridge for up to 3 days.
