  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1/3 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 tablespoons ketchup
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper

For the Gravy:

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 medium onion, thinly sliced
  • 8 ounces mushrooms, sliced
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 teaspoon fresh thyme or 1/2 teaspoon dried
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Beef Patties: In a large bowl, mix ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, Dijon mustard, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Shape into 4 oval patties.
  2. Cook the Patties: Brown the patties in a skillet, then set aside.
  3. Make the Gravy: Sauté onions and mushrooms, add flour, then whisk in beef broth, Worcestershire, Dijon, and thyme. Simmer until thickened.
  4. Simmer and Serve: Return patties to the skillet, cover with gravy, and simmer until cooked through. Garnish with parsley before serving.
