For the Beef Patties:
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1/3 cup breadcrumbs
- 1 large egg
- 2 tablespoons ketchup
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
For the Gravy:
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 medium onion, thinly sliced
- 8 ounces mushrooms, sliced
- 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 2 cups beef broth
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
- 1 teaspoon fresh thyme or 1/2 teaspoon dried
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- Fresh parsley for garnish
Instructions
- Prepare the Beef Patties: In a large bowl, mix ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, Dijon mustard, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Shape into 4 oval patties.
- Cook the Patties: Brown the patties in a skillet, then set aside.
- Make the Gravy: Sauté onions and mushrooms, add flour, then whisk in beef broth, Worcestershire, Dijon, and thyme. Simmer until thickened.
- Simmer and Serve: Return patties to the skillet, cover with gravy, and simmer until cooked through. Garnish with parsley before serving.

- For extra flavor, add grated onion to the beef mixture.
