Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven: Preheat the oven to 350°F. Grease and line three 8-inch round cake pans with parchment paper.
  2. Mix dry ingredients: In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. Cream butter and sugar: In a large bowl, cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla.
  4. Combine wet and dry ingredients: Add dry ingredients alternately with buttermilk, mixing until just combined. Fold in the toasted chopped pecans.
