Description

Indulge in these decadent Peanut Butter Brownies with a healthy twist. Made with natural peanut butter, maple syrup, and unsweetened applesauce, these brownies are a guilt-free treat for any occasion.

Ingredients

Scale

Wet Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup natural peanut butter (no sugar added)
  • 1/4 cup maple syrup or honey
  • 1/4 cup unsweetened applesauce
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Dry Ingredients:

  • 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/4 cup whole wheat flour or oat flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup dark chocolate chips (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven: Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line an 8×8-inch baking dish with parchment paper.
  2. Mix wet ingredients: In a medium bowl, whisk together the peanut butter, maple syrup (or honey), applesauce, egg, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  3. Add dry ingredients: Add the cocoa powder, flour, baking soda, and salt to the bowl and stir until just combined. Fold in the chocolate chips if using.
  4. Bake: Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish and smooth the top with a spatula. Bake for 18–22 minutes, or until the edges are set and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
  5. Cool and slice: Let the brownies cool completely in the pan before slicing into squares.

Notes

  • These brownies are naturally sweetened and made with wholesome ingredients.
  • For a vegan version, use a flax egg and maple syrup.
