Brownie Base Ingredients

- Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 350ºF (175ºC) to get it ready for baking the brownies.
- Prepare Pan: Line an 8×8-inch baking pan with parchment paper to prevent the brownies from sticking and to make removal easier.
- Melt Butter: In a large mixing bowl, melt the ¾ cup of butter until completely liquid.
- Mix Cocoa and Vanilla: Add ½ cup cocoa powder and 1 teaspoon vanilla extract into the melted butter. Whisk the mixture until it becomes smooth and well combined.
- Add Sugar and Eggs: Stir in 1 ¾ cups brown sugar and then add 3 eggs. Use a whisk or an electric mixer to beat the mixture until it is smooth and fully combined.
- Add Dry Ingredients: Incorporate ¾ cup all-purpose flour and ½ teaspoon salt into the wet mixture. Beat again until the batter becomes smooth and uniform in texture.
- Pour Batter: Pour the brownie batter into the prepared baking pan, spreading it evenly.
- Top with M&Ms: Sprinkle 1 cup of M&Ms evenly over the surface of the batter and gently press them into the batter to adhere.
- Bake: Place the pan in the preheated oven and bake for 40-45 minutes. Check for doneness by inserting a toothpick into the center; it should come out clean or with a few moist crumbs.
