Description

Lasagna Flatbread is a delicious twist on traditional lasagna, combining the flavors of lasagna in a convenient and quick-to-make flatbread form. This recipe features layers of creamy ricotta cheese, savory marinara sauce, seasoned ground beef (or sausage), and gooey melted cheese, all baked to perfection on a flatbread base.

Ingredients

Scale

Flatbreads:

  • 2 large flatbreads (such as naan)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

Ricotta Mixture:

  • 1 cup ricotta cheese
  • 1 egg (lightly beaten)
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • Salt and black pepper to taste

Additional Toppings:

  • 1 ½ cups marinara sauce
  • 1 cup cooked ground beef or Italian sausage
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tablespoons fresh basil (chopped)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven: Preheat the oven to 400°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Prepare Ricotta Mixture: In a small bowl, mix ricotta cheese, egg, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper until smooth.
  3. Assemble Flatbreads: Place flatbreads on the prepared baking sheet, brush lightly with olive oil, spread marinara sauce, add ricotta mixture, cooked meat, mozzarella, and Parmesan cheese.
  4. Bake: Bake for 12–15 minutes until cheese is melted and bubbly.
  5. Finish and Serve: Garnish with fresh basil, slice, and serve.

Notes

  • You can substitute the meat with sautéed spinach, mushrooms, or zucchini for a vegetarian option.
  • For extra cheesiness, add provolone or fontina on top.
  • Serve with a side salad for a quick and satisfying dinner.
