Description

A vibrant and spicy twist on the classic margarita, this Hot Honey Mango Tajín Margarita combines the tropical sweetness of mango with the kick of hot honey and chili, balanced by fresh lime juice and orange liqueur. Perfect for a refreshing cocktail with a spicy edge and a tajín-rimmed glass for extra zing.

Ingredients

Scale

For the Mango Purée

  • 1 cup frozen organic mango chunks
  • 12 tsp hot honey
  • Pinch of chili powder (optional)

For the Margarita

  • 2 oz spirit of your choice (tequila recommended)
  • 1 oz fresh lime juice
  • ¾ oz Cointreau (or other orange liqueur)
  • ½ cup mango purée (prepared above)
  • 1 cup ice

For the Rim & Garnish

  • Tajín for the rim
  • Lime wedge for garnish
  • 1 dried árbol pepper

Instructions

  1. Make the Mango Purée: Blend the frozen mango chunks, hot honey, and chili powder (if using) until smooth. Adjust the consistency by adding a splash of water or lime juice if the purée is too thick.
  2. Rim the Glass: Run a lime wedge around the rim of the glass and dip it into Tajín to coat the rim evenly with the spicy, tangy seasoning.
  3. Mix the Margarita: For a frozen version, blend the spirit, lime juice, Cointreau, mango purée, and ice until smooth. Alternatively, shake all ingredients in a cocktail shaker and strain into the Tajín-rimmed glass filled with fresh ice for a shaken margarita.
  4. Garnish & Serve: Drizzle hot honey inside the glass to add an extra layer of sweetness and heat. Rinse and deseed the dried árbol pepper before adding it for milder spice or leave seeds in for more intense heat. Garnish the drink with a fresh lime wedge and serve immediately.

Notes

  • Use tequila as the spirit of choice for an authentic margarita flavor.
  • Adjust the amount of hot honey and chili powder for desired spice level.
  • The dried árbol pepper can be skipped or substituted if you prefer less heat.
  • For a non-frozen version, serve the margarita shaken over fresh ice.
  • Tajín can be found in most grocery stores or Latin markets and adds a unique chili-lime flavor.
