Main Cookie Dough:

- ½ teaspoon almond extract (optional)
- Halloween-themed sprinkles or colored sugar (optional)

For the Icing (Optional):
- 1½ cups powdered sugar
- 2–3 tablespoons milk
- ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
- gel food coloring in Halloween colors (orange, black, purple, green)
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
- Mix Dry Ingredients: In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.
- Cream Butter and Sugar: In a large bowl, cream together butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in the egg, vanilla extract, and almond extract if using.
- Combine Wet and Dry Ingredients: Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture and mix until a soft dough forms. Tint with food coloring if desired.
- Roll and Cut: Roll out the dough, cut into Halloween shapes, and place on baking sheets.
- Bake: Bake for 8–10 minutes until lightly golden. Cool on a rack.
- Prepare Icing: In a small bowl, whisk powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla until smooth. Tint with food coloring.
- Decorate: Decorate cooled cookies with icing and let set before serving.
