Ingredients
Scale
Gelatin Mixture
- 1 box (3 ounces) lime or green apple gelatin (or any green-flavored gelatin)
- 1 cup boiling water
- ½ cup cold water
- ½ cup non-alcoholic apple juice or another fruit juice
- Green food coloring (optional)
Garnish
- Whipped cream
- Green sprinkles or edible glitter
- Mini shamrock-shaped candies
Instructions
- Prepare the Jello Mixture: In a large bowl, combine the gelatin powder with boiling water. Stir thoroughly until the gelatin is completely dissolved. Then add the cold water and non-alcoholic apple juice, mixing well to ensure an even consistency. If desired, add a few drops of green food coloring for a more vibrant hue.
- Pour into Shot Glasses: Arrange your shot glasses or small cups evenly on a baking sheet for stability. Carefully pour the prepared jello mixture into each glass, filling them about three-quarters full to allow space for the garnish.
- Chill and Set: Place the baking sheet with the filled shot glasses into the refrigerator. Let the gelatin chill for 2 to 4 hours, or until completely set and firm to the touch.
- Garnish and Serve: Once the jello shots are fully set, remove them from the refrigerator. Top each shot with a dollop of whipped cream, then sprinkle with green sprinkles or edible glitter, and finish with mini shamrock-shaped candies to add a festive touch. Serve chilled and enjoy!
Notes
- Use non-alcoholic apple juice to keep these family-friendly and suitable for all ages.
- For a stronger green color, add a few drops of green food coloring.
- Chilling time may vary depending on your refrigerator’s temperature; ensure the gelatin is fully set before serving.
- These can be prepared in advance and stored covered in the refrigerator for up to 2 days.
- Use mini shamrock candies or any festive toppings to customize for different holidays or themes.
