- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 tablespoon chopped fresh dill or 1 teaspoon dried dill
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
For serving:
- 4–6 pita breads
- sliced tomatoes

- shredded lettuce or greens
- crumbled feta (optional)
Instructions
- Marinate the Chicken: In a medium bowl, whisk together olive oil, lemon juice, garlic, red wine vinegar, yogurt, oregano, salt, and pepper. Add the chicken and toss to coat. Cover and marinate in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour or overnight.
- Prepare the Tzatziki Sauce: Combine the yogurt, grated cucumber, garlic, lemon juice, olive oil, dill, and salt in a small bowl. Stir well, cover, and refrigerate until ready to use.
- Cook the Chicken: Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Remove the chicken from the marinade and cook for 5–6 minutes per side, or until cooked through and golden. Let rest for 5 minutes, then slice.
- Assemble the Gyros: Warm the pita bread and assemble the gyros with chicken, tzatziki, tomatoes, red onion, and lettuce. Sprinkle with feta if desired. Serve immediately.
