Description

This Garlic Butter Lobster Tails recipe offers a delicious, buttery, and garlicky seafood dish that’s perfect for a special occasion or an indulgent dinner. Featuring succulent lobster tails brushed with a flavorful garlic butter sauce and cooked to perfection by grilling or baking, this recipe is easy to prepare and guarantees a tender, juicy result.

Ingredients

Scale

Lobster Tails

  • 4 lobster tails (frozen or fresh)

Garlic Butter Sauce

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 34 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon lemon zest
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried parsley (or fresh if preferred)
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Cooking

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil (for cooking)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the lobster tails: If using frozen lobster tails, thaw them in the refrigerator for several hours or overnight. Use kitchen shears to cut down the center of the shell, stopping just before the tail end. Gently pull the lobster meat out of the shell, leaving the base attached.
  2. Preheat your cooking method: Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C) or prepare a grill for medium-high heat.
  3. Make the garlic butter sauce: In a small bowl, combine the melted butter, minced garlic, lemon juice, lemon zest, paprika, parsley, salt, and pepper. Stir until well combined.
  4. Prepare the lobster tails for cooking: Place the lobster tails on a baking sheet or in a baking dish, brushing the garlic butter mixture generously over the lobster meat.
  5. Cook the lobster tails: For grilling, cook the lobster tails for 6-8 minutes per side, brushing with additional garlic butter while grilling. For baking, place the prepared lobster tails in the oven and bake for about 12-15 minutes or until the lobster meat is opaque and cooked through.
  6. Finish and serve: Once cooked, remove the lobster tails from the oven or grill and drizzle with any remaining garlic butter sauce. Serve immediately with lemon wedges and extra garlic butter sauce on the side.

Notes

  • You can use either fresh or frozen lobster tails, but make sure to thaw frozen tails properly before cooking.
  • Be careful not to overcook the lobster to maintain juicy, tender meat.
  • Using fresh parsley instead of dried parsley will enhance the flavor.
  • Additional garlic butter sauce can be warmed and served on the side for extra indulgence.
  • Lemon wedges add a bright, fresh balance to the rich garlic butter flavor.
