- 1/2 teaspoon ground cayenne pepper (optional)
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon hot sauce (adjust for spice preference)
Creamy Garlic Sauce
- 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1/4 cup chicken broth (or water)
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon hot sauce (or to taste)
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano (optional)
- 1/2 teaspoon ground chili flakes (optional)
Ramen and Garnishes
- 2 packs of ramen noodles (discard the seasoning packet)
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil (for cooking)
- 1/2 cup chopped green onions (for garnish)
- 1 tablespoon sesame seeds (optional, for garnish)
- Fresh chili slices or chili flakes (optional, for garnish)
- 1/2 cup fresh cilantro (optional, for garnish)
Instructions
- Prepare the Chicken: Season both sides of the chicken breasts with salt, pepper, garlic powder, paprika, and cayenne pepper if using. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat until hot, then add the chicken breasts.
- Cook the Chicken: Cook the chicken for 6-7 minutes on each side or until fully cooked and golden brown. Confirm doneness using a meat thermometer, ensuring the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C). Remove from skillet and let rest before slicing into thin strips.
- Make the Creamy Garlic Sauce: Using the same skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant and lightly golden. Stir in heavy cream, chicken broth, soy sauce, hot sauce, and sugar. Bring to a simmer and cook for 3-4 minutes, stirring occasionally until the sauce thickens slightly. Season with salt, pepper, and oregano if desired. Add chili flakes for extra spice if using. Keep sauce warm on low heat.
- Cook the Ramen: In a medium pot, bring water to a boil. Add ramen noodles and cook according to package instructions (about 3-4 minutes). Drain noodles and toss with sesame oil to prevent sticking and add flavor.
- Assemble the Dish: Divide cooked ramen noodles between two bowls. Pour the creamy garlic sauce over the noodles, top with sliced chicken, and garnish with chopped green onions, sesame seeds, fresh chili slices, and cilantro if desired.
- Serve: Serve the Fiery Chicken Ramen immediately while hot. Adjust heat by adding extra hot sauce or chili flakes to taste.
Notes
- For milder heat, reduce or omit cayenne pepper and hot sauce.
- Use chicken broth or water in the sauce depending on your preference for richness.
- Resting the chicken after cooking helps retain juices and improves tenderness.
- Discard the ramen seasoning packets to avoid excessive sodium and add your own flavor with the sauce.
- Fresh chili slices and cilantro add a fresh burst of flavor and visual appeal.
