Description
These Delicious Tortilla Cinnamon Rolls are a quick and easy twist on traditional cinnamon rolls, using flour tortillas for a flaky, buttery texture. Perfect for a cozy breakfast or sweet snack, they feature a cinnamon-brown sugar filling rolled inside soft tortillas, baked until golden, and topped with a simple vanilla glaze.
Ingredients
Scale
For the Rolls
- 4 large flour tortillas
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1/2 cup light brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons ground cinnamon
For the Glaze
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 tablespoons milk
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) to ensure it reaches the right temperature for baking the cinnamon rolls evenly.
- Prepare Filling: In a mixing bowl, combine the melted butter, light brown sugar, and ground cinnamon. Mix until you have a smooth, uniform filling mixture.
- Spread Filling: Evenly spread the cinnamon and sugar filling over the surface of each flour tortilla, making sure to cover all areas for consistent flavor.
- Roll & Slice: Roll each tortilla tightly from one edge to the other, then slice each rolled tortilla into 1-inch wide rounds to form individual cinnamon rolls.
- Bake: Place the sliced rolls in a greased baking dish, spacing them slightly apart. Bake in the preheated oven for 20 to 25 minutes, or until they turn golden brown and are cooked through.
- Make Glaze: While the rolls bake, whisk together the powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and milk in a small bowl until smooth to create the sweet glaze.
- Glaze & Serve: Once the cinnamon rolls are out of the oven and still warm, drizzle the prepared glaze evenly over the top. Serve immediately for best taste.
Notes
- Use fresh flour tortillas that are pliable for best rolling results.
- The glaze can be adjusted in thickness by adding more or less milk.
- For a richer flavor, consider adding a pinch of salt or nutmeg to the filling mix.
- These rolls are best enjoyed warm but can be reheated in the oven.
- You can add chopped nuts or raisins in the filling if desired.
