Description

Creamy Garlic Parmesan Chicken with Cheesy Twisted Pasta is a comforting and flavorful dish featuring juicy seared chicken breasts served over tender rotini pasta coated in a rich garlic parmesan cream sauce. Perfect for a satisfying weeknight dinner, this recipe combines simple ingredients into a luscious, cheesy meal garnished with fresh parsley.

Ingredients

Scale

Chicken

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • Salt, to taste
  • Black pepper, to taste
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

Pasta

  • 12 ounces rotini pasta
  • 2 tablespoons butter

Garlic Parmesan Sauce

  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese

Garnish

  • Fresh parsley, chopped (optional)
  • Extra Parmesan cheese (optional)

Instructions

  1. Season the chicken. Trim and pat dry the chicken breasts. Season both sides generously with salt, black pepper, and Italian seasoning for maximum flavor infusion.
  2. Sear the chicken. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Sear the chicken breasts for 5-6 minutes per side until they are golden-brown and cooked through. Remove from the skillet and let rest to retain juices.
  3. Cook the pasta. Boil the rotini pasta according to package directions until al dente. Drain and immediately toss with butter to prevent sticking and add richness.
  4. Make the garlic sauce. In the same skillet used for the chicken, add butter and minced garlic. Sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant, taking care not to burn the garlic.
  5. Add cream and cheese. Pour in the heavy cream and let it simmer for 3-4 minutes to slightly thicken. Stir in the grated Parmesan cheese and continue mixing until the sauce becomes smooth and creamy.
  6. Toss pasta with sauce. Slice the rested chicken into strips. Toss the cooked rotini pasta in the creamy garlic parmesan sauce until fully coated and flavorful.
  7. Plate and garnish. Serve the sauced pasta on plates, top with sliced chicken strips, drizzle additional sauce as desired, and garnish with fresh chopped parsley and extra Parmesan cheese for a beautiful finish.

Notes

  • Letting the chicken rest after cooking ensures it stays juicy and tender.
  • Use freshly grated Parmesan for the best flavor and smooth sauce texture.
  • Adjust the amount of garlic according to your taste preferences.
  • For a lighter version, substitute heavy cream with half-and-half or use less butter.
  • Fresh parsley is optional but adds a nice color contrast and freshness.
