Ground Beef Mixture:

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 small yellow onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 can (15 ounces) whole kernel corn, drained
  • 1 can (10.5 ounces) condensed cream of mushroom soup
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese, divided

Tater Tot Layer:

  • 1 bag (30 ounces) frozen tater tots

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven: Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Cook the ground beef: In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef until browned. Add diced onion and garlic, sauté until softened.
  3. Combine ingredients: Drain excess grease. Stir in corn, cream of mushroom soup, sour cream, salt, pepper, paprika, and 1 cup of cheese. Mix well.
  4. Assemble the casserole: Spread mixture in a 9×13-inch baking dish. Arrange tater tots in a single layer on top.
  5. Bake: Bake for 35-40 minutes until tots are golden brown. Sprinkle remaining cheese on top, bake for 5 more minutes.
  6. Serve: Let cool slightly before serving.
