Cookie Dough
- 1 box Sugar Cookie Mix (homemade sugar cookie batter can be used)
- 1/2 cup Unsalted Butter (at room temperature)
- 1 large Egg
Jello Flavors
- 1 box Cherry or Strawberry Jello
- 1 box Orange Jello
- 1 box Lemon Jello
- 1 box Lime Jello
- 1 box Berry Blue Jello
- 1 box Grape Jello
For Coating
- 1/4 cup Granulated Sugar (for rolling dough balls)
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line your cookie sheets with parchment paper to ensure easy removal and prevent sticking.
- Prepare Dough: In a large mixing bowl, follow the instructions on the sugar cookie mix package to prepare the dough until it is smooth and slightly sticky.
- Divide and Color Dough: Divide the dough evenly into six portions. Stir one different box of Jello powder into each portion until the dough is vibrantly colored and evenly mixed.
- Form Dough Balls: Roll each colored dough portion into 1-inch diameter balls. Then coat each dough ball evenly by rolling it in the granulated sugar to add a sweet, sparkling crust.
- Arrange and Bake: Place the sugar-coated dough balls onto the prepared baking sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart to allow for spreading. Bake them in the preheated oven for 11 to 13 minutes or until the edges turn a light golden brown.
- Cool Cookies: Let the cookies cool on the baking sheets for 5 minutes to set before transferring them to a wire rack. Allow them to cool completely to finish firming up and to enjoy at the perfect texture.
Notes
- You can substitute the store-bought sugar cookie mix with homemade sugar cookie dough if preferred for more control over ingredients.
- Feel free to experiment by mixing double Jello flavors for unique color blends.
- Make sure the butter is at room temperature to ensure the dough mixes properly.
- Do not overbake; cookies should remain soft and chewy inside.
- Store cookies in an airtight container to maintain freshness for up to 5 days.
