Ingredients
Scale
Banana Pops:
- 4 ripe bananas (peeled and halved)
- 8 popsicle sticks
Chocolate Coating:
- 1½ cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1 tablespoon coconut oil
- ½ cup chopped nuts, sprinkles, or shredded coconut (for topping, optional)
Instructions
- Prepare the Banana Pops: Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Insert a popsicle stick into each banana half and place them on the baking sheet. Freeze for at least 1 hour until firm.
- Melt the Chocolate: In a microwave-safe bowl, combine the chocolate chips and coconut oil. Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring between each, until smooth and fully melted.
- Dip and Coat: Dip each frozen banana into the melted chocolate, using a spoon to help coat evenly if needed. Quickly sprinkle with your choice of toppings before the chocolate sets.
- Freeze Again: Place the coated bananas back on the parchment-lined sheet and freeze for another 15–30 minutes, or until the chocolate is firm.
- Serve: Serve frozen or slightly thawed.
Notes
- Use ripe but firm bananas for best results.
- Store the finished pops in an airtight container in the freezer for up to 1 week.
- For a dairy-free version, use vegan chocolate chips.
