Description

A delicious and easy Chinese-American inspired stir fry featuring tender chicken and vibrant broccoli in a savory sauce. This flavorful dish is perfect for a quick and satisfying weeknight meal.

Ingredients

Scale

For the Chicken:

  • 1 pound boneless skinless chicken breasts, thinly sliced
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil, divided

For the Stir Fry:

  • 4 cups broccoli florets
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth
  • 3 tablespoons oyster sauce
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon hoisin sauce
  • 2 teaspoons sesame oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon fresh ginger, grated
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes, optional
  • Sesame seeds and sliced green onions for garnish

Instructions

  1. Marinate the Chicken: In a medium bowl, toss the sliced chicken with 2 tablespoons soy sauce and cornstarch. Allow to marinate for 10 minutes.
  2. Cook the Chicken: Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Cook the chicken for 4 to 5 minutes until browned and cooked through. Remove and set aside.
  3. Prepare the Stir Fry: Add the remaining oil to the skillet and stir-fry the broccoli for 3 minutes until slightly tender. Add garlic, ginger, and red pepper flakes, cook for 30 seconds. Return the chicken to the skillet.
  4. Make the Sauce: In a small bowl, whisk together chicken broth, oyster sauce, soy sauce, hoisin sauce, and sesame oil. Pour the sauce into the skillet and cook until thickened.
  5. Finish and Serve: Cook for an additional 2 to 3 minutes until broccoli is tender. Garnish with sesame seeds and green onions before serving.
