Instructions
- Preheat and Prepare: Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan or line it with parchment paper.
- Mix Dry Ingredients: In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and garlic powder if using. Stir in the shredded cheddar cheese.
- Combine Wet Ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk together the buttermilk, egg, and melted butter. Pour into the dry ingredients and stir just until combined. Fold in herbs if using.
- Bake: Pour the batter into the prepared pan, smooth the top, and bake for 40–45 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Cool and Serve: Let the bread cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
