Ingredients

Scale

For the Dough:

  • 3 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 1/4 teaspoons active dry yeast (1 packet)
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup whole milk, warm (about 110°F)
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 large eggs

For the Filling:

  • 2 medium apples, peeled and diced
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter

For the Caramel Sauce:

  • 1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter
  • 1/4 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine warm milk, yeast, and 1 tablespoon sugar. Let sit for 5 minutes until foamy.
  2. Add melted butter, remaining sugar, eggs, flour, and salt. Mix until dough forms. Knead on floured surface for 5–7 minutes until smooth. Place in greased bowl, cover, and let rise for 1 hour or until doubled.

  3. Meanwhile, cook diced apples in butter over medium heat for 5 minutes until slightly softened. Stir in sugar and cinnamon and cook 2 more minutes. Remove from heat and let cool.
  4. Roll out dough into a 16×12-inch rectangle. Spread apple filling evenly over dough. Roll tightly from long side and cut into 12 rolls. Place rolls in a greased 9×13-inch pan. Cover and let rise for 30 minutes.
  5. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake rolls for 25–30 minutes until golden brown.
  6. While rolls bake, make caramel sauce by melting butter and brown sugar in a saucepan over medium heat. Stir in heavy cream and vanilla. Simmer for 2–3 minutes until smooth and slightly thickened.
  7. Drizzle warm caramel sauce over baked cinnamon rolls before serving.

Notes

  • For an extra touch, sprinkle chopped pecans on top after drizzling caramel.
  • Store leftovers covered at room temperature for up to 2 days or refrigerate for up to 5 days.
