Scale
For the Casserole:
- 12 ounces egg noodles
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 small onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup sliced mushrooms
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
- 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of mushroom soup
- 1 cup sour cream
- 1/2 cup beef broth
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Chopped parsley for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Prep Oven and Noodles: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Cook the egg noodles according to package directions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- Brown the Beef: In a large skillet over medium heat, heat the olive oil and cook the ground beef until browned, about 5–6 minutes. Drain any excess grease.
- Sauté Vegetables: Add diced onion, minced garlic, and sliced mushrooms to the skillet. Cook for another 4–5 minutes until the vegetables are softened.
- Make Sauce: Stir in Worcestershire sauce, Dijon mustard, cream of mushroom soup, sour cream, and beef broth. Mix well until combined and creamy. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Combine Noodles and Sauce: Stir the cooked noodles into the beef and sauce mixture until evenly coated.
- Assemble Casserole: Transfer the noodle and beef mixture into a greased 9×13-inch baking dish. Evenly top with shredded mozzarella and grated Parmesan cheese.
- Bake: Bake uncovered in the preheated oven for 20–25 minutes or until the casserole is hot and bubbling and the cheese is melted and slightly golden.
- Garnish and Serve: Remove from oven, garnish with chopped parsley if desired, and serve warm.
