Ingredients

Ziti Pasta:

1 pound ziti pasta

Ground Beef Mixture:

1 tablespoon olive oil, 1 pound ground beef, 1 small onion (diced), 3 cloves garlic (minced), 1 jar (24 oz) marinara or pasta sauce, 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning, salt and pepper to taste

Cheese Layers:

1 cup ricotta cheese, 1 large egg, 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese, 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

Garnish:

chopped parsley or basil for garnish (optional)


Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. Cook Ziti: Cook ziti until al dente, then drain.
  3. Prepare Meat Sauce: Brown ground beef and onion, add garlic, then mix in marinara sauce and seasonings.
  4. Prepare Ricotta Mixture: Mix ricotta cheese with egg in a small bowl.
