Description

These Baked French Dip Biscuits are a savory twist on the classic French dip sandwich. Fluffy biscuit dough filled with tender roast beef and melty cheese, baked until golden and served with a side of au jus for dipping.

Ingredients

Scale

Biscuits:

  • 1 can refrigerated biscuit dough (8 large biscuits)

Filling:

  • ½ pound deli roast beef (thinly sliced)
  • 1 cup shredded provolone or mozzarella cheese

Additional:

  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter (melted)
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon dried Italian seasoning
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds (optional)
  • 1 packet au jus mix (prepared according to package directions)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven: Preheat the oven to 375°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Prepare biscuits: Split each biscuit in half horizontally and flatten slightly. Layer roast beef and shredded cheese onto the bottom half of each biscuit, then place the top half over to close. Pinch edges to seal.
  3. Season and bake: Arrange stuffed biscuits on the baking sheet. Brush the tops with melted butter and sprinkle with garlic powder, Italian seasoning, and sesame seeds if using. Bake for 15–18 minutes, until golden brown and cooked through.
  4. Make au jus: Prepare the au jus while biscuits bake.
  5. Serve: Serve warm with a side of au jus for dipping.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, spread a thin layer of horseradish sauce or Dijon mustard inside the biscuits before adding roast beef and cheese.
  • Leftovers can be reheated in the oven to keep them crispy.
