  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

For the Glaze:

  • ½ cup powdered sugar
  • 12 tablespoons milk

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven and prepare the pan: Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a 9×13-inch baking dish with parchment paper.
  2. Make the crust: Mix flour, sugar, and salt. Cut in butter, add egg, and press two-thirds of the dough into the pan.
  3. Prepare the apple filling: Combine apples, brown sugar, spices, lemon juice, cornstarch, and vanilla. Spread over crust.
  4. Add the topping: Crumble remaining dough over the apples.
  5. Bake: Bake for 45–50 minutes until golden brown.
  6. Glaze and serve: Whisk powdered sugar and milk, drizzle over cooled bars, and slice.
